Women's Health Supplements
Women's nutritional needs shift across decades, and this collection follows them. Women's health supplements include prenatal multivitamins that help support a healthy pregnancy and normal early fetal development; heme iron, which helps form red blood cells and helps maintain healthy iron levels when intake is low; active folate (L-5-MTHF); inositol; and botanicals such as chastetree traditionally used in herbal medicine to help support hormonal balance. Bone-supporting minerals and omega-3s round out the range.

Our naturopaths choose with absorption and tolerance front of mind: iron forms that are gentle on digestion, methylated folate, and botanicals standardized to known actives. All products are practitioner-grade and licensed with a Health Canada NPN, and brands that publish third-party testing are preferred where they state it. Fertility and prenatal products are reviewed with particular care.
NFH is the leading brand here, alongside ATP Lab. Best sellers include NFH Prenatal SAP, NFH Heme Iron SAP and NFH Chastetree+ SAP.

Frequently asked questions
What should I look for in a prenatal vitamin?
Active folate (L-5-MTHF) at the labelled amount, iodine, choline, vitamin D3, a well-tolerated iron and an NPN on the label. Our naturopaths also consider format, since some people manage capsules better than large tablets during pregnancy.
Why heme iron instead of regular iron?
Heme iron is the form found in animal foods and is absorbed through a different pathway than non-heme iron salts, so it is typically gentler on digestion at lower doses. Ask your physician for bloodwork before starting iron and review results together.
Can I take chastetree with hormonal contraception?
Botanicals that influence hormonal pathways should not be combined with hormonal contraception or hormone therapy without professional advice. Bring your full medication list to a consultation so your naturopath and physician can review it.
